Daniel was born in Korea, but a year later, his parents and family chose to move to the United States. He spent his childhood and grew up in New York City, Easton, Pennsylvania, and Bethlehem. In 2002, he married Mia Kim, and they have 2 sons named Jackson Kim and Zander Kim. Daniel Kim graduated from Haverford College with a double bachelor’s degree in theater and political science. In 1992, Daniel Dae Kim entered the film industry and played in the American series Unsolved Mysteries’. Most of the TV series he played came from such as ‘Crusade’, ‘Angel’, ‘Lost’. Then he also appeared in the series where he became an executive producer, the drama ‘The Good Doctor’ and aired in 2019. As well as some famous series such as ‘Hawaii Five-0’ and ‘New Amsterdam’.

‘Hawaii Five-0’ is an American television series that has action, drama, and police procedural genres and it has 230 episodes. This series aired on CBS on September 20, 2010, and ended on April 3, 2020. The series has a different story, but if you draw the outline of this series, it tells about a police unit assigned to combat crimes that have occurred in Hawaii, where there’s still no official police unit along the island. On that island, there are many criminal cases such as corruption, assassination, and many more. Daniel Dae Kim joined the series from 2010 until 2017 (from Season 1 – 7) and acted as Detective lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly. He’s a former member of HPD and the protege of McGarrett’s father. Where he was accused of being involved in a corruption case, but in the end, he was proven innocent and re-joined with HPD. Different from ‘Hawaii Five-0’, this television series entitled ‘New Amsterdam’ is a series in the medical-drama genre based on a book entitled Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital written by Eric Manheimer. This series started in early 2020 and tells the story of a medical director from one of American’s hospitals and the person name Dr. Max Goodwin. He aims to reform the facilities and make bureaucracy better. In this series, Daniel Dae Kim plays Dr. Cassian Shin. Not only as an actor and producer, but Daniel also became a voice actor. He became a voice actor in 2006.
