As rookies, ATEEZ has won the Next Generation Award from Golden Disc Awards for their works Treasure EP.Fin: All to Action in 2019. In the same year, they also won the title of Worldwide Fans’ Choice, Best Korean Act, and Performance Award at music awards. In 2021, they won World Rookie of the Year from Gaon Chart Music Awards. As of 2021, ATEEZ has released six Korean-language EPs, one full-length album, and three Japanese albums. Their fifth extended play, Zero: Fever Part.1, became ATEEZ’s third number-one release in South Korea and also certified Platinum on Gaon Chart after selling more than 1 million copies. It was ATEEZ’s first platinum. Without further ado, let’s time travel to ATEEZ’s debut era!

ATEEZ’s Debut Plan

Prior to debuting, ATEEZ was known as KQ Fellaz. ATEEZ had already posted their activity through their official SNS before debuting under KQ Fellaz. They have a series called KQ Fellaz American Training on YouTube. It shows their activities when they traveled to Los Angeles, California, to practice. They had nine trainees However, the ninth trainee, Lee Junyoung, was not added to the final group lineup. Some of the members also joined the survival show Mixnine but didn’t make it to the final debut line. ATEEZ debuted on October 24, 2018. The name ATEEZ stands for A TEEnager Z, or teenagers who, considering the current cultural environment, hope to be enthusiastic. ATEEZ is a group that has captivated audiences since its beginning and is now recognized as a global success. It is considered an idol group with a bright future because of its widespread success abroad and the size of its domestic fandom which is increasing in combination with its rising popularity in Korea. ATEEZ officially debuted with the release of their first mini-album titled TREASURE EP. 1: All to Zero. The album contains 6 tracks. After the release, the album peaked #7 on the Gaon Album Chart. On the same day, ATEEZ held its first showcase which attracted about 400 people. On Mnet’s M! Countdown on October 25th, they gave their first music appearance.

Through their official SNS, the agency revealed the date and location of their debut show, which took place on October 24th, 2018, at YES24 Live hall. Following this announcement, they released teaser images in chronological order from October 8 to October 23, 2018. ATEEZ’s Debut Music Video

Prior to their debut, ATEEZ uploaded two music videos for the lead singles “Pirate King” and “Treasure.” Pirate King is a powerful song with a heavy trap sound, while “Treasure” starts with rap verses over backbeats before transitioning into a chorus and bridge that highlights the group’s vocal versatility. I just know their future is bright I love Ateez because they are so unique compared to others in the industry, they aren’t being restricted into this small box and following the same trends like many groups are doing in the industry at the moment something tells me this group is gonna be HUGEE holy moly this is such a LEGIT debut song and stage if you don’t stan ATEEZ, what on earth are you doin’ with your life?
